I am Awesome!

“The higher the level of self esteem, the more likely one will treat others with respect, kindness & generosity.” Nathaniel Branden

Self-esteem, to me, is how you perceive yourself and believing in yourself. Believing you can do something is 100 times more important than how smart you actually are. If you feel 100% confident that you CAN do something, chances are, you will do whatever it takes to do so. Throughout life you will realize that those who are the most successful, are the one’s who hold themselves in high regard.

Self-esteem goes hand in hand with many other core values in life. If you have a high self-esteem, chances are you’re a confident person as well. You may also notice that when you have a high self-esteem you seldom compare yourself to others as well. This makes you more unique in that aspect. Many people in today’s world are constantly comparing themselves to others or trying to be someone they’re not. This brings me to today’s 30 Days of Truth.

30 Days of Truth

Day 2: Something you love about yourself.

Growing up I didn’t have a lot of self-esteem. I was always the fat kid. I got made fun of constantly. So, I felt like shit most of the time. As the years went by, it didn’t really get any better, because I was always moving to a new town and a new school. So throw in me being the “New kid”, and now I’m the “Fat new kid”. I let this eat away at me for years until one day I was fed up with everyone and said “Screw it”.

I started dressing in black and hanging a few chains from my wallet. I was becoming what most people would call “Goth” or “Grunge”. I started not caring what others thought. This was my first step to recovery, granted it clearly wasn’t a step in the “right” direction, but it was a start none-the-less. After my first year in high school, little by little the black nail polish started going away, I bought new colorful clothes, and made new friends. To say the least, I still don’t care what others think.

To make a long story short, I slowly but surely built my self-esteem from nothing. I found that as I grew older and matured, through my writing and my friends, I became the person that I am today. So, in other words, the thing I love about myself the most is that I have a high self-esteem. What makes it even better is that I worked hard to develop that self-esteem.

(1) Something you hate about yourself. (2) Something you love about yourself. (3)Something you have to forgive yourself for. (4) Something you have to forgive someone for. (5) Something you hope to do in your life. (6) Something you hope you never have to do. (7) Someone who has made your life worth living for. (8) Someone who made your life hell, or treated you like shit. (9) Someone you didn’t want to let go, but just drifted. (10) Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn’t know. (11)Something people seem to compliment you the most on. (12)Something you never get compliments on. (13) A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.) (14) A hero that has let you down. (letter) (15)Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it. (16)Someone or something you definitely could live without. (17) A book you’ve read that changed your views on something. (18) Your views on gay marriage. (19) What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics? (20)views on drugs and alcohol. (21) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do? (22) Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.(23)Something you wish you had done in your life. (24) Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs. (Just post the titles and artists and letter)(25) The reason you believe you’re still alive today. (26) Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why? (27) What’s the best thing going for you right now? (28)What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do? (29) Something you hope to change about yourself. And why. (30) A letter to yourself, tell yourself EVERYTHING you love about yourself .

500php is more or less, 10 USD :))
So they gave the bereaved family, 10 bucks to comfort them…

in fairness, some got 1000 php — definitely, justice wasn’t properly served…

Re: Ur blog: lack of self-esteem has always been my issue when i was younger…. i have surpassed that (so i thought) — but sadly, whenever i see those people related to that “era” where i lacked self-confidence, i feel like i am sucked back into time…

I really admire you for having built your self esteem, slowly, but surely… your readers will be inspired to develop it as well.. will learn to appreciate what they have and start becoming happy 😀

Thank you so much. It wasn’t easy, but everyone can do it as well. You just have to believe in yourself. I really hope to have helped a few people with this post as well as throughout the rest of my 30 Days of Truth.

      Thanks for the comment! 😀
